SCOTUS Upholds Partial-Birth Abortion Ban

Today the Supreme Court of the US in a 5-4 ruling upheld the ban on partial birth abortion, despite the lack of a provision that allowed for the life of the mother to override the ban. It's being greeted by anger or elation, depending on your affiliation, and is seen as another step on the slippery slope of abortion rights in the United States.
What do you all think about it? (If you don't want to read the whole thing, the dissent at the bottom by Ginsberg is definitely worth reading.)
The thing is...
...unless your affiliation is simply anti-woman, this isn't a good thing for anyone.
This nightmare administration is so, so good at brainwashing, that half the populace doesn't even realize that late-term abortions are nearly ALWAYS only used to spare pregnant women the physical and emotional agony of having to give active birth to infants which are stillborn, or otherwise unviable births. Even calling it "partial-birth" has always been the craziest, most clearly manipulative, thing to call late-terms, for this very reason. Plenty of the people cheering are completely clueless as to what they're cheering FOR.
SO many women who have had to go through that terrible ordeal, or who would have had late-term abortion procedures not been available to them, have been speaking up loud and clear.
But, of no surprise to anyone aware of how deep-seeded hatred towards women is, and how very much the men-in-charge, and people influenced by their ignorance and intentional misinformation in the name of their ideologies, those women's voices were ignored or made invisible.
Can you imagine having to go through the rest of a pregnancy and the whole of labor knowing that what you were giving birth to was already dead, or would be born with defects that would cause it to die shortly thereafter or live a life with a disability that wasn't manageable and would cause your child needless pain?
Sadly, more women will be finding out how that feels now, and sadly, ideologues don't give a crap.
I agree 100% with Heather.
I agree 100% with Heather. Here is an excellent article on this:

This is so, so upsetting
Or, as Justice Ginsburg says in her dissent:
In sum, the notion that the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act furthers any legitimate governmental interest is, quite simply, irrational. The Court's defense of the statute provides no saving explanation. In candor, the Act, and the Court's defense of it, cannot be understood as anything other than an effort to chip away at a right declared again and again by this Court - and with increasing comprehension of its centrality to women's lives. See supra, at 3, n. 2; supra, at 7, n. 4. When "a statute burdens constitutional rights and all that can be said on its behalf is that it is the vehicle that legislators have chosen for expressing their hostility to those rights, the burden is undue."
